Amira Al Amary

Amira Al Amary is a graduate of Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia where she studied fine arts. She also studied computer graphics in Pona, India, and web design in Edmonton, Canada. Amira conducted workshops with artists from Europe and the Middle East and is a founding member of the Yemen Art Association, a member of the Artists to Artists Foundation, and the founding member and CEO of Areej Artists Centre. Also, she is the curator and Artistic Director of the Areej Gallery. Her work has been shown in the Middle East, Africa, USA and Canada. Currently, her work is displayed in the main museum in Ethiopia where she recently held a solo exhibit. Amira devotes her spare time to educating aspiring young artists in her local community who may otherwise not have had the opportunity to be mentored by an established artist.

Getachew Fantu

Getachew is an Ethiopian-born African, European and Canadian-trained artist. He has studied art in Italy, and in Medicine Hat College in Canada. For his outstanding scholastic achievement, Getachew received a Certificate of Merit from the government of Alberta as well as an Our Image Award in the established artist’s category. Getachew’s artwork has featured in over 30 individual exhibitions and 20 group exhibitions. His work has been shown in the USA, Canada, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe. Boxing champion Lennox Lewis, former Argo quarterback Rocket Ishmael, artist Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), and many more have chosen to include Getachew’s artwork in their personal collections.

Sarah Abusarar

Sarah comes from a long line of storytellers on her paternal side. She tells stories to both adults and children. Sarah has told at various cultural centers, museums, art galleries, festivals, libraries, parks and homes. Because Sarah grew up in several countries, she tells stories from all over the world with a focus on Palestinian and Croatian stories, where her roots lie. Her favourite stories are ones that promote social change. Sarah has also used stories in a therapeutic way, with children in refugee camps as well as refugee children in Toronto, as part of their therapy. She teaches stories at the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program. Sarah tells stories so that she may go deep inside of the tales and and herself in faraway magical places, that she remembers, from long, long ago.

Leon Emmanuel

A creative and multitalented photographer, writer, artist, web and graphic designer with extensive experience in multimedia, marketing and print design. Leon is a collaborative and dynamic team player with well-developed communication abilities. He is CEO of Digital Paradise Ltd. is also working behind the Areej Artist Center website.

Odysee

Odysee, a 24-year-old producer, singer, songwriter, engineer and mixer born in Montreal, Canada, and now based in Toronto, Ontario who enjoys blending various genres in one along with an explorative journey through her sounds. She began singing and playing the piano at a young age after receiving a keyboard from her father. For years she wrote and played as a personal release, up until a few years ago. She has worked with the writing team of N.O.M (no one man) which produced a double-platinum hit song “Goodbye – Glenn Morrison ft. Is love” affiliated with robin entertainment and Sony ATV. The team also worked with Eric Hudson who produced John Legend, Chrisbrown, Kanye West, Pussycat Dolls, to name a few and Ron Ne u Freemstar whos worked with Eminem, 50 Cent and was the last to produce Michael Jackson. Now, she is creating music for artists and selling on her website (iamodyprod.com), short films, commercials and recently in performance art theatre. She is building her brand and expanding her network connections.
